That rule exists because rigid tools and swabs go too deep and work inward. HaloraCo is designed for the outer canal only — the tip is a soft, flexing resin head with no hard edges, and it collects wax in the outward direction your ear already moves it. You never dig, and you never need to.
How do I know it will actually grab anything? Some sticky sticks are gimmicks.
Two differences. First, the adhesive: cheap versions use a thin synthetic glue that quits after one use. Ok, I get the hype now. Twisted it twice and the amount of gunk on the stick was honestly disturbing. Ears feel open for the first time in years.
I've used Q-tips my whole life even though my doctor kept telling me they push wax deeper. Last year I paid $210 at an ENT to have my left ear cleaned out and swore I'd find another way.
